Nagpur Startup Fest

ICTRD successfully hosted two of Nagpur's largest startup fests, each showcasing hundreds of innovative startups and featuring insights from industry experts. These events attracted thousands of participants, all eager to engage with the latest entrepreneurial trends and technological advancements. Hon. Shri Nitin Gadkari’s presence at event added immense value, inspiring attendees and recognizing the growth of Nagpur’s startup community. Together, these remarkable gatherings highlighted the region's vibrant spirit of innovation and its strong commitment to fostering entrepreneurial growth.

First Nagpur Startup Fest

The much-anticipated Nagpur Startup Fest 2018, held on October 6, 2018, at Kavi Suresh Bhat Sabhagruha, was a landmark event, bringing together government officials, investors, new businesses, educational institutions, and social organizations. Organized by the Indian Council for Technical Research and Development (ICTRD) in collaboration with the Nagpur Municipal Council, the fest featured over 100 startups, with 10 shortlisted to pitch their ideas before stakeholders and more than 2,000 attendees. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the event, with Mayor Nanda Jichkar and MP Ajay Sancheti among other dignitaries in attendance. The fest showcased innovations such as Droni Tech’s utility drones and Honda’s Coo App-loaded two-wheelers. Panel discussions with experts provided valuable insights, while all 5,000 participants received certificates, free lunch, and access to emergency medical services. The event also included stalls from various startups, emphasizing its role in fostering entrepreneurial spirit and showcasing emerging businesses.

Second Nagpur Startup Fest

On August 24, 2019, the second edition of Nagpur Startup Fest was held at Mankapur Stadium, celebrating the city’s entrepreneurial spirit. Organized by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the Indian Council for Technical Research and Development (ICTRD), the event aimed to provide a platform for startups and aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their potential and discuss challenges. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the fest, praising the initiative and encouraging youth to use innovation to address socio-technical issues. The event saw participation from over 20,000 attendees, including 50 startup investors, vice-chancellors, and government officials. With around 100 domain experts leading discussions, and stalls from major government departments and startups, the fest offered valuable opportunities for networking and funding. Notable guests included Power Minister Chandrasekhar Bawankule, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, and MP Vikas Mahatme, among others.
